Should I buy Mapsend or it is possible that the National Geographic and DeLorme mapping programs?

Magellan Mapsend Topo Will A Magellan 500LE Only Take Mapsend Topo Maps ?

Magellan has been configured so that only they can use their software. DeLorme is the same. I have not found that a GPS can be used to offer data from other topographic maps.
